36 seconds.  King Alexander I of Yugoslavia was assassinated on October 9, 1934, in Marseille, France, by Vlado Chernozemski, a Bulgarian gunman working with Croatian Ustaše separatists. The shooting, one of the first captured on film, occurred during a state visit intended to strengthen alliances against Nazi Germany. French Foreign Minister Louis Barthou was also killed.
